IT'S BEGINNING TO LOOK A LOT LIKE CHRISTMAS!!

I love to decorate for Christmas~I like a lot of sparkle~~I went with the White~~Silver and Pink theme this year~~when we turn the lights down low~~ it is Magical~~ with the Candles glowing and the Tree lights and all the Silver shimmering among the lights!!

Christmas at the Cottage

IT'S CHRISTMAS TIME and PINK SATURDAY!!

I love Christmas~~It's a time when our Family gets together and really can spend time with each other~~on Christmas break, the kids have time to play in the snow~~the grownups have time to spend with the kids~~I play Christmas music all day while I'm cleaning and cooking~~and I'm happy because I know that when Christmas eve comes everyone will be at my Home for fun~~laughter and good food~~

I have given all the little ornaments that the kids made for me when they were little back to them so they can enjoy them on their Trees~~so since they are grown and have their own Homes~~~

My favorite Holiday Decoration is my Mantel~~ First I start with a Beautiful piece of Vintage wide Crochet Lace laid out across the Mantel~`then I add Pink and White lights~~2 handmade stockings made from Vintage sweaters and a row of candles across the top~~the lights are always on, because they are hooked to an outlet so whenever I flip the switch all the lights come on~~and then I can light all the candles and we have a warm and glowing room~~

I have purchased my first Christmas present this year~~and it is for ME!! I saw these Pink uggs and have been wanting a pr. so bad that I just ordered them right away~`I didn't want to take the chance of waiting and hinting about them and then they would be sold out in my size~~I was so excited I could hardly stand myself~~~and they arrived TODAY!! Oh! they are so Beautiful and they fit heavenly~~so soft and warm~~so this is my Pink Contribution this week~~Happy Pink Day to all~~

Next week it will be Pink Christmas~~I love Christmas~~all the hustle and Bustle and wrapping gifts~~I know this week was supposed to be a favorite Childhood Christmas memory~~I didn't have any~~I don't remember a single Christmas as a child~~my Christmas memories started when I married my Husband~~actually I was almost a child when I got married~~16~~and then oh!! did we have Christmas's and we have ever since~~I do remember standing in the cold looking in the Department Store Windows when I was a child~~just so mesmerized by the beautiful decorations in the Windows~`seeing all the toys and Dolls under the tree~I would stay so long gazing in the windows~~that I got in big trouble when I got to the House for Lollygagging~when I was a kid people went all over in groups singing Christmas Carols in front of the Houses in town and I always loved listening to the Carolors~next week~~pictures of my little Muffins and their Christmas memories~~Blessings to all!!

I happened to find this magazine going thru my huge stash of magazines~~I really have too many, but I can't throw any away! I thought this cover was extra pretty with the Pink~~and it is Simply Beautiful~~like the cover says~

The weather is changing and getting so cold it's time to pull out the sweaters~~this one is my favorite~~pink of course!!

HAPPY PINK SATURDAY TO ONE AND ALL~~

This week has been a week of Memories~~seems like every once in awhile I go thru this phase of remembering old times and things~~last week I was going thru all my old pictures to get them ready for the scrapbook and came across all the old Black and Whites~~which I love old pictures in black and white~~

This pink jacket is my contribution to Pink Saturday~and then my Story!!

I was born in Nova Scotia, Canada ~~there are seven of us~when my Mother left Canada I was very young as was my Brother John and Sister Joanie~~we were the youngest~When we got to the States we were all put into Foster Homes~at one point I was with my Brother and Sister~but soon we were split up and only a couple of times did we live together after that and then that was it~we all grew up apart~I started working for my Room and Board when I was 13~I was completely on my own~~I had to scrub floors and learn to cook and take care of the Familys kids~~and still go to school and try to do my school work~~needless to say my school work suffered~~`I was always so envious of the kids who had parents~`I wanted a Mom to Love me and tell me everything would be all right~~I wanted a Mom to Braid my hair and tell me I was pretty~~I wanted to come home to what my friends had~A Mom who had cookies and milk waiting for them.

I remember my friend Susan who I walked to school with, I would go over to her house and wait for her to come out so we could wask together~~`one morning her Mother came out and asked me to come in that Susan was a little late so I could wait inside~Oh! it was so wonderful, warm and pretty inside and Susan was sitting at the kitchen table eating oatmeal and a big glass of Milk and toast with Peanut Butter. Her Mom was fussing over her~I was so jealous~~I hadn't even eaten Breakfast!! The pictures below of me and my siblings show smiling faces ~they hide the pain we are feeling inside~~this was actually the worst place we lived in~`she would be in Jail today for what she put us thru~

I managed to get thru the other places I lived in~~living here and there~none of them places any Child should have to be~~~Then I met Jim~~I was 16 years old~It was love at first sight~he was so Handsome~~I knew the first day I met him that I would marry him~~and thats exactly what happened~~We started our own Home~~and it was filled with Love and happiness and 3 adorable Children~~I vowed that I would tell my Children every day that I loved them and I did!! I hugged them and kissed them told them they were special~ I read to them~held them~played with them~~and yes, I fussed over them~~Actually, I still do that today and they are grown~~Well!! I don't read to them or play with them~~but I tell them I love them and they are still special!! and they always get hugs from me~~

I'm sure everyone has a Story~~and I'm sure there were Children that had it worse than we did! I think that what doesn't kill you makes you stronger~~I keep the pictures because it's all I have to show of my Childhood~~there are no other pictures of us~I got these pictures when my Mother Died~~they were in a box and my Brother gave them to me along with a few cards with little child like scribbling on them that said I love you Mommy xoxoxo~I can remember sending her cards in the mail when I was little, I didn't know she saved them~~

My favorite jacket of all time~~Pink~~it is about 15 years old and I have almost worn it out~~I can thow it in the washer and fluff it in the dryer~it is toasty warm~~I love it!

This is a Post Card picture of a ship that I was on when I was very small~ I have tried to find out the details of this Trip to no avail~but I do remember parts of it~~The Lady that had me was very Elegant~dressed in a big hat and had fur on the collar of her coat~`and I remember I was so scared and I cried and was so very sick~~I would love to find out if at all possible to research this ships passenger list~~I have no idea how to do it~~

Th note on the back of this postcard that was sent to my Mother~`I remember this trip vividly~~I was so sick the whole trip~~they must have held my hand to write the piece at the bottom as I was only 4 years old~I often wonder if my Mother was trying to adopt me out~~I asked my older Sisters later on in my life and they didn't want to talk about it~~

This is my Dad~~I remember I used to sit on his lap and he would sing songs to me~"Don't Fence me in"~~and Don't sit under the Apple Tree with anyone else but me"~~~I was so young when my Mother took us from Canada~ and I never saw my Dad again.

This is all of us except one before we left Canada~~my Oldest Sister is not in the Photo~she had gone to the States earlier

This was taken at our Aunts house who took care of us for a little while before we were put into Foster care~I wished we could have stayed there!

We have a new Business in town~~an Antique store that has only been open for just a few days~~of course I had to go see what it was all about and meet the new owner~very nice lady~I hope she can make it~`the economy here is so very bad~i am wishing her the very Best~`she moved here from San Diego and they bought this big Building~which used to be the First Bank in this Town and also she told me they Bought the oldest and most Beautiful huge Victorian Mansion here also~ next week I will have a Picture of her House too.~~~But I was delighted to see Ronald McDonald as I entered the front door~~she told me this is her greeter!! Her prices are very reasonable I think and I gave her a list of things I like and collect and my name and phone #~~she said she has so many Boxes to unpack~~it would take her sometime to get it all out~~ I've been in her Store twice now and I was the only one in there, so I'm a little worried, I hope that is not a sign~~I like to see every small Business prosper~I'm sure the word will get out and the people will come from other towns around here! At least she is on the Main Street, of course we only have one street so to speak in this town!

This painting is on the side of a Building in our little Town~~the building was a Movie Theatre at one time~~many many years ago~but it is right across the street from our Post Office and is quite an attraction to newcomers to this little town~`people will actually stand right in the middle of the street and take pictures, with cars going by~~I'm not that brave~`I stood in the safety of my jeep and took this picture today~this painting is the main street of this town as it looked way back then.

Where does the time go~~way too fast for me~~I have way too many things to do~`way too many places to go~~I'd better get busy!! I hope everyone has a wonderful wkend ~

These last few weeks I have been really trying to thank my Blessings for all I have and the Wonderful Friends and Family that continue to surround me with Love~~ Maybe it's the weather that brings the Doldrums~~as I am a Summer girl, I love the Sunshine~Bring it on~please shine on me~~I'm not happy with the cold or the snow~~I actually like a nice warm rain in the spring~~~but please no Cold~

My hubby has been gone for what seems like forever~so I guess I have been feeling sorry for myself~and I don't think I could have gotten thru these last few Months without my Adorable Grandaughter~her sweet smile and pretty face~~her arms that wrap around me~~her giggles and the way she says Gran~~with love in her voice~~she stays with me so I don't have to stay alone~`she calls me to let me know where she is at all times~~she has taught me to text so I can reach her anytime and she can reach me at anytime~~

It seems like yesterday I held this precious child in my arms~`and now she is turning Seventeen and she is taller than me~she is a strong ~caring ~intelligent girl and I am so proud of her, when she left to go to the Movies tonite I said goodbye~`I love you~`see you soon~`as I shut the Door and turned back into the house~`I realized that it looked like a Bomb had gone off in the house~`Clothes everywhere~~and then I went into the Bathroom where the girls were getting ready and it looked liked two Bombs went off in there~Makeup and hairbrushes~every for the Hair that had a cord on it that you could imagine~straightner's~`crimpers~~dryers~plus wet towels~~My first thought was OH NO and then my second thought was ~~thank goodness that I have this mess, because she has brought me more joy than I could ever imagine~`and she will clean it all up when she gets home from the Movies anyway~~and it's just her and me here so, I can handle it~`I feel much worse when I don't see anyof her things around~~I'm going to enjoy every minute I have with her~~Below are some pictures of her in stages of growing up, I have helped my Son raise her since the Day she was Born, so sometimes I forget she is not mine.

Where oh where are the weeks going???? I thought everything was running pretty smoothly~~eek~~this week was super hectic~~~spirit week at the High School~~~two night games~late!! ~~fast food~~ running as fast as I can~~a teenager saying~~where is my Costume~where are the fabric pens, I have to make a t-shirt for Homecoming~~oh No!! it's Homecoming too?~`yes and then there's Halloween~~I have no idea where your Costume is!! Why does it take Two hours to do make-up~~I can do it in 5 minutes!

Please eat something Courtney~~COURTNEY!!~~okay, okay~~

She rushed out the door tonite to go to Homcoming and the Dance afterwards~~I held her tight and said Please promise me you will be safe and keep your eyes open, do not go anywhere alone. PLEASE!! yes, Gram, I promise, I love you, and I said I love you more!!

She will be 17 in a month~~my Baby is growing up way too fast to suit me~~

Thank you to Beverly for giving us this chance to connect with others and share our lives and our creativeness~I so enjoy visiting the blogs ~and I love to get the comments~~as well as give them~~I'm going to try and get around to quite a few this time~~`I wish there were two of me~~I never seem to have enough time it seems~`maybe I just put too much on my Plate~~don't know what it is~~ I know I am always amazed at what some people get done in a day~~tonite as I stated working on my Blog, my Son came by to visit, and I just gave up what I was doing because I knew he wanted to talk, not about anything really~just conversation~~~just sit on the Sofa and talk about Courtney and her games and other things~~I thought to myself, if I never finish the Blog it will be okay~~he comes first! So he is off to his house now and I am blogging and I'm sleepy~so I hope I don't fall into the keyboard~~maybe I better go get a Diet Pepsi~~YUM!
Everyonce in awhile my Little Bella puts her paw on my bare foot to remind me she is laying beside my chair~~she knows this room is taboo~~ but she also knows that if she slinks in here quietly and lays down beside my chair and rolls her pretty little eyes at me that I will fall to pieces and let her stay~~she also knows she can get away with it because the Master is not home~oh well, we won't tell him~~the minute he drives up she will be in her own bed ;-)

Below are my Bloomers I've been making! I Love Love Bloomers~~~first thing I put on in the morning are my Bloomers and a Tank Top~~I have them for sale on my Ebay site~~the ones I wear around the house are not quite so elaborate~~but still pretty!

My husbands Bounty~we have a little orchard of Apples and Pears, and Plums and my hubby delights in the fruit that the trees bear~these are the King Apples and Comice Pears, the Bartletts are gone now and the Gravensteins~which is my favorite for making Pies~~

This is the reason not to have a white Dog! just kidding! I love her Dearly

It's Pink Saturday!!

it's so much fun to read the blogs and see what everyone has been up to~~I feel sorry for anyone that has to read mine, as I never get the words with the pictures right~~it's like a guessing game. Which picture goes with the words~~ I can Raise wonderful Children~I can be a good wife~I can help raise my adorables (grandchildren) I can cook~~or so they tell me~~I can sew almost anything~~ I can change the oil in my Jeep~`BUT I CAN"T GET THIS COMPUTER STUFF~~~

I'm so envious of everyones Blog~~everything in order, beautiful pictures all in order~~OH MY! what is the matter with me~~Oh Well!

maybe someday it will sink in, I think I have a mental Block~~it better hurry up~`I'm getting older by the minute~~

Good news this week~~we have no problems so far with the sheep, my husband put wire up on the regular fencing~~5 acres of it to be exact~~every moring when I go to feed them, I almost get sick, never knowing what I will find~~so far so good, the ones that are left look healthy, my Husband called yeaterday and I said how much am I supposed to feed them, and he told me and I said Oh Oh~~I think I am feeding them too much~~~no wonder they look so good~~

I found this cute old birdcage downtown in a little store for $5.00 I couldn't resist it , so I brought it home and gave it a coat of white paint (it was black) and then proceeded to embellish it with Birds and flowers and Prisms~~~it will stay like this for awhile and then I'll change it again.

I decided to give my Mannequin a new look and I came up with this look~When my grandaughter saw it she wanted to wear it for Halloween as her costume~we have since changed her mind and she will be the Ice Queen~~so looks like I will be making a costume unless I can find one in a Store~~

My grandaughter started a Darling Bakery
so I showing some pictures of it, her cakes are so pretty, she is so young to start this Venture, but I'm not surprised, she has so much talent
, it just oozes from her. In one picture you can see my adorable grandson sitting in the chair, is he eating a cupcake?

the weeks are just flying by too fast~~I'm having a hard time getting anything accomplished~so not a lot of Pink going on here right now~~od course I'm surrounded by it everyday, as it is my favorite color~

I'm working on this Mannequin I have pictured~~It is a work in progress, It will maybe change a little before I can call it completed~~

The Coyotes are back with a vengance~~this has been the most traumatic thing for me~~and I must admit I have not been good at handling this crisis~~with my husband working away from Home~~I have lost my major support system and I have to deal with this in a daily basis~and I have no idea what to do at times~~my Son has been helping me when he can, but of course he can't be here all the time~~WE are losing a ewe about every other day~~our herd is small~~they all have names~~and of course I have lost the babies I raised and now the bigger ones~~Lucy grew up and now she is gone~WE can put them in the Barn when Jim is home, but I can't get them in when he is gone~~Last night my Son slept in the Pasture with his dog and we did not lose any sheep~~But I'm a mess today because I stayed up all night afraid for my Son~ He is one brave man~~I begged him not to stay out tonite~~he said he would come early in the morning!! I will sleep better tonite knowing he is not out there.

I aquired two Mannequin dress form's from a Boutique that went out of business, and I have started working on one~~everything is just pinned on, I still am deciding on the final outcome, I love this in Pink~~but I may do a few changes~~

Remembering 9/11~ and all the people that lost their lives that horrible day~~the Loved Ones they left behind~~all of us shaken to the Core~~It was so hard that day to watch it on the Television and it is still hard to this Day~~Our Beautiful Country terrorized by simply Horrible People~~

I woke up this morning and the sun was shining and I sat on my Porch and thanked God for all the blessings I have~~~this peaceful piece of Land~~free to go where I want and think what I want~~thinking about Our Troops~~these wonderful young Men and Women who put their lives on the line every day for us~~so we can be safe~~Please keep them in your prayers~~

My Husband went back to work, and that was a good thing, except for the fact that now he has to stay away from home all week. I am so lonesome~~Courtney stays with me when she can, but she has been doing some jobs here and there to make money for school clothes. He even has Bella with him~~

So I have been getting a lot of housework and sewing done, it's amazing how neat the house stays, when he's gone~~smile~~I hate to stay alone at night, I hear every creak, and I wake up.

Today after feeling sorry for myself I decided I just had to get out and see what was going on in the world, so I went to the City, and found some cute Pink things~~shopping always makes a girl feel better I think~~I got the "Where Women Create" magazine and Somerset Home today and to top it off my Victoria Magazine came in the Mail, so I'll read myself to sleep tonite~~Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy looking at my Pink goodies I got today~~I'm looking forward to looking at your Pretty Pink Saturday Blogs~~

My Son went to Oregon State, so I found this cute Pink Beaver Tee and just had to have it

I Found this cute little Store in the City today~Paris Flea Market~~I just had to buy some Pink Roses, and a Vintage Pink Hanger~~and I got to bring it all home in this cute paper bag~~

Doesn't this Rose look real, it is a silk from the Paris Flea Market Store~~my favorite Pink!

Pretty Pink Sorbet ribbon I received in the mail today~~it is just luscious~like sherbert~yummy!

Courtney french braids my Hair for me because I can't seem to get it straight when I do it, I would need eyes in the back of my head~~

We just got home from my Grandson Kyle's American Legion Baseball game~~It was a double header, Oh! my, it was cold, the wind was blowing, and lucky for me I had taken a wool Blanket also, to cover up with. Some people left it was so cold.

My Adorable was pitching, so I was staying to the bitter end~~they won both games and Kyle pitched a fantastic game~~He was the winning Pitcher for the second game and his friend Brice was the winning Pitcher for the 1st game~~

I was so excited to get to see this kid Pitch that I put my new chair down that I had bought for the grandstand, and I sat down and I told my husband~~oh my, this is so comfortable~~after a bit I could hear him giggle and I said whats so funny, and he said you have your chair upside down. Talk about embarassment~~I said well I wondered where the arms were~~, so we turned it right side up, and I sat back down and It was kinda hard, so I said , I want it the other way~~so I sat thru 2 games with the chair upside down~~ When I have my wits about me I'll figure out what it's all about~~Oh, well, it was a great night, I was dressed all in Pink, saw a pretty pink sky and a winning game, so all is good and I'm off to bed.

I was so tired after the game I just threw my sweatshirt and cap on the bed, and headed for the Computer to get started on Pink Saturday~`It's 10.39 pm and I am so tired ZZZZZZZ

Coming home from the game, I noticed the sky was Pink, so I grabbed my Camera and took a picture~this was 9.30 in the evening~~

I found this Purse while shopping with Courtney, I just had to have it~Courtney said Oh! Gran, that is so you
